Council size and representation

  • On January 14, 2025, voted to keep council composition unchanged at thirteen members, including the mayor.

Conduct findings and outcomes

  • A February 2024 Integrity Commissioner report found Code breaches concerning treatment of the CAO. Council imposed a 60-day remuneration suspension on February 27, 2024.
  • The CAO-related report found disrespectful and abusive remarks; it also states that this incident involved no actual or threatened physical violence.
  • On December 19, 2023, a motion requesting his resignation lost 3–8. McLeod, Moote and Van Vliet supported the request.
  • The City reported that Council restored his in-person participation by an 8–3 vote in November 2025, ending restrictions that began in December 2023.
  • The Integrity Commissioner found no Code breach in the joint complaint about recount-related votes, in the report published in August 2023. That finding concerns this complaint only.
  • An August 2026 Integrity Commissioner report found Code breaches concerning comments at the January 13 meeting. The report recommends a reprimand, a 21-day pay suspension, an apology and corrective measures.
  • In the separate February 2024 trail/conflict matter, Council issued a reprimand. A proposed 90-day pay suspension was defeated.
  • An August 2024 report found two confidentiality breaches and recommended a 15-day remuneration suspension.

  • Re-elected as a Ward 4 councillor in 2022; certified to run again in 2026.
